Rebecca has extensive experience and qualifications within the world of nutritional writing, media, education,
and environmentalism. She is currently the editor and regular contributor for the nutrition section of a new global
foodie magazine called Basil. Even though the magazine is new, they have already received glowing feedback from celebrities
like Martha Stewart. Rebecca also writes a popular monthly column for Catalyst Magazine, “The Alchemical Kitchen”,
that describes particular food preservation and in-home artisan food techniques, offering easy, delicious, and safe
recipes for the reader to do at home. As a nutritionist with a Ph.D., works with individuals, families, and local
community organizations, helping them to create a sustainable nutrition plan for a life of wellness and joy.
Rebecca is also a regular host on Park City Television and Basil Online Radio for localism, DIY, and artisan food segments.
During these segments, Rebecca can be found showing viewers/listeners what’s in season at the farmers’ market and how to
cook/preserve the foods once purchased. She always comes across as very knowledgeable, friendly, and at ease in these media platforms.
Her Park City TV During the summers, Rebecca works closely with the local Park City farm – Copper Moose Farm. She is the lead
cook for their popular Harvest Dinner, which use only local ingredients. She teaches sold-out preservation classes to the
community and farm members. She also makes all of the value added products for Copper Moose Farm– like pickled vegetables
and canned soups – for the farm share members and local markets.
Rebecca began her studies of the body and movement through dance and somatic education at Indiana University of Pennsylvania
(BA - 1998) and the University of Pittsburgh (MA – 2003). She has also studied movement, experiential anatomy, and kinesiology
at Movement Research; the University of California, Irvine; the University of Utah; the Integrative Movement Studies/Laban
Movement Analysis Certification Program at the University of Utah; and with contemporary dance companies in Pittsburgh,
New York City, and Seattle. She received her 200 hour yoga teacher training certification at the Sivananda Vedanta Center
in Nassau, Bahamas and her 500 hour advanced yoga teacher training through the Himalayan Institute of Yoga Science.
